Questions
Why convert PNG to JPG?
A photo saved as PNG is often several times larger than the same photo as JPG. JPG files are smaller to email, upload and store, and open everywhere.
What happens to a transparent background?
JPG can't be see-through, so transparent parts are filled with the background you pick, white at first. To keep the transparency, keep the PNG, or choose WebP.
Will my image lose quality?
JPG compresses images: at 80 to 90 % the difference is very hard to see in photos. Screenshots, text and logos with sharp edges show it sooner; keep those as PNG.
Are my images uploaded?
No. They're converted by your browser, on your device.
