Format
Quality · 85%
Lower quality makes smaller files; 80 to 90 % looks the same as the original for most photos.
Photos are turned upright as the camera took them, and the camera's data (date, place, device) isn't kept in the new files. Animated GIFs and WebPs keep their first frame.

Questions
Which format should I choose?
JPG for photos that must open everywhere, PNG for screenshots, logos and images with a transparent background, WebP or AVIF for the smallest files on websites.
Why can't I convert to AVIF?
AVIF is only written where the browser can write it: Firefox and Safari do, Chrome doesn't yet. Any browser can open AVIF files to convert them to another format.
Are my images uploaded?
No. They're converted by your browser, on your device, and never sent anywhere.
What happens to the photo's camera data?
Photos are turned upright as the camera took them, and the camera's data (date, place, device) isn't kept in the new files.
Can I convert animated GIFs?
An animated GIF or WebP keeps its first frame; to make a GIF from a video, use Video to GIF.
