EXIF Viewer / Remover

See what a photo tells about where, when and with what it was taken, and remove it, in your browser

Drop photos here

Or choose them: JPG, PNG, WebP, HEIC; they're read in your browser and never uploaded

Remove

EXIF (camera, dates, location, serial numbers, its thumbnail), XMP, IPTC, comments and PNG text are removed. The orientation is kept, so a photo isn't shown on its side, and the color profile, so its colors don't change.

JPEG, PNG and WebP keep their image exactly as it was: only the metadata is taken out. Messaging apps and social networks often remove it on their own; email, cloud links and file sharing usually don't.

How to view and remove EXIF data from photos

  1. Drop your photos on the page or choose them: JPG, PNG, WebP or HEIC.
  2. See what each one tells: where it was taken (with a map link), the camera and its serial number, when, the owner, and every tag.
  3. Choose to remove everything or the location only.
  4. Download the cleaned photos, one by one or in a ZIP archive.

Questions

Can a photo reveal where I live?

Yes. Phones save the GPS location in photos, and it stays in the file when you send it by email, a cloud link or file sharing; messaging apps and social networks often remove it on their own.

Does removing EXIF lower the quality?

No. JPEG, PNG and WebP keep their image exactly as it was: only the metadata is taken out. A HEIC photo is written again as JPG.

Will the photo be shown on its side?

No, the orientation is kept, and so is the color profile, so its colors don't change.

Are my photos uploaded?

No. They're read and cleaned by your browser, on your device; the map opens OpenStreetMap only if you click its link.
