How to convert Excel to CSV

What happens to formulas?
Each formula becomes the value Excel last computed for it, as when you save a sheet as CSV in Excel.
How are dates written?
As text, e.g. 2026-10-14, which every program reads, or as Excel's own date numbers if you need them.
Can I open old .xls files?
No, only .xlsx and .xlsm, the format Excel has used since 2007. Open an .xls in Excel or another spreadsheet and save it as .xlsx first.
Is my workbook uploaded?
No. It's read by your browser, on your device.
